This project explores nostalgic childhood conceptions of ‘dressing up’, a process concerned with the performance of a hyperbolic version of femininity. The whimsically girlish use of hyper-saturated colour, shirred tulle and infantile archetypes aims to transport the wearer back to a time in lived memory when dress ups and dolls sparked pure joy and creativity, and inspired one’s first sense of identity and self-expression.
