Samantha Browne, Bachelor of Fashion (Design)(Honours), Employed
Samantha Browne’s ‘collection .1’ is inspired by the Make Do & Mend campaign from the 1940s and its adaptability to fabric resections and clothing coupons. This collection uses only secondhand materials, including repurposed mens suiting, re-knitted second-hand jumpers and vintage bedspreads. The purpose of the collection is to question the norm of using new materials to create new garments and change peoples view towards secondhand materials.
