Qing Wei, Master of Fashion (Design), Transformationbasic/formalplayful
Graduating from RMIT’s Bachelor of Design (Fashion)(Honours) in 2018, Qing Wei’s Masters of Fashion Design project builds on dyeing and printing techniques of previous work to explore how perceived ‘boring’ garments can be reimagined as interactive, playful wearables. This is formed in a collection that engages with the wearer by embedding elements of colour and play that references children’s toys and interactive games. Qin’s garments explore the relationship between the garment and the human body, by showing the dynamic beauty of clothing through movement.
